Adoption Guidelines
RUFF Rescue of Central Florida, Inc. follows certain
guidelines when approving a family for adoption. These guidelines are put into
place so that we can find our dogs forever homes that are right for them, and to
help you find a new forever friend that will fit in with your family.
We require an excellent veterinarian reference showing yearly visits for
vaccinations, tests, etc. for all furry family members. We also require evidence
that all dogs have been kept on heartworm and flea prevention, and that the
veterinarian's suggestions for care have been followed.
We require a favorable home for each one of our dogs (a home visit is done prior
to placement of our dogs). What is favorable varies from dog to dog. Some dogs
may not do well in an apartment, some may need a fenced yard, some may need
another dog for companionship, some may need a human at home during most of the
day.
We require that all dogs be indoor dogs.
We require that all animals in the home be spayed and/or neutered.
We require a lifetime commitment to the dog. We want our dogs to be members of
the family, and family members are for life.
Adoption Fees
Adoption
fee includes all vaccinations needed up to the time of adoption, spay/neuter,
wellness exam, fecal, heartworm test (if dog is six months or older), and
microchip with lifetime registration.
Adoption fees are noted on each dog's bio page. Reduced fees are available for
senior dogs, and dogs requiring ongoing medical care.
Senior citizens (age 62 and older) are entitled to reduced adoption fees for
senior dogs.
